ArkLaTexGirls - January 2012 Announcements

Good morning, ladies! I created this blog as a supplement to our ArkLaTex Girls group on Facebook, and I'm so excited about the things that we'll be sharing there, and here. I'm starting fresh in 2012, and digging deep into God's word with Good Morning Girls and a bible study in Ephesians. I am also taking the challenge to be a more gentle mother with Women Living Well and The Gentleness Challenge. I would love for you to join me! I was reading this week's post on The Gentleness Challenge and noticed that Courtney referenced a quote by Sally Clarkson that said: "I've always said that a woman alone in her own home with her own limited self, sinful children, and a house that is subject to falling apart, is a target for Satan. Joining hands with other women, having a prayer partner, starting a small group, is a defense against vulnerability." That is exactly why I created ArkLaTex Girls! We absolutely need friendship and community, everyday! Sisters and prayer warriors to do life with... to lift each other up.

I encourage each of you, if you haven't already, to enroll in the Ephesians study and participate with our group! This is the first "big" bible study our group will be participating in! Just click HERE to get started. All of the posts related to the study can be found there, listed in order from most recent to oldest. You will find everything you need, from information on the study to a downloadable/printable study guide that Angela and Courtney prepared for us! So far there are only 3 posts, so you aren't very far behind, and the study doesn't begin until January 15th, so there's plenty of time to learn more about it and join in! If you need help enrolling, please let me know! I would be happy to help you get started!

If you are interested in joining me in The Gentleness Challenge, simply click on the link to learn more, and follow along! There will be a new post each Monday in the month of January to help us along the way. Courtney is challenging us to turn our hearts toward our children and focus on being gentler mothers in 2012... and with a 5 year old and 12 year old, I know I need encouragement in that area now more than ever!

I've found Good Morning Girls and Women Living Well to be encouraging, inspiring and uplifting! I hope that you do as well because I am so excited to share these opportunities for friendship, community and ministry with you!

Let's start 2012 off on the right foot, in God's word, and in prayer for our families, our children, and each other!
